NO TIME TO FORGET – for democracy, facts and dignity

May 7–8, 2026 in Berlin

Remembering the crimes of National Socialism is not just about looking back, it is also vital to protecting the future of our democracy, which is under enormous pressure today. Because antisemitism, historical revisionism, polarization and global crises demand new answers for how remembrance should look like in the future to ensure our democracy remains strong and resilient.

EVZ Foundation is hosting HISTODAY 2026, a European history festival, aiming at critically reflecting the past and bravely exploring questions about the future.
We are looking for your expertise, your voice and your ideas in action:

  • Challenges accepted – What do we remember? How can we learn to see diverse perspectives on the past as enriching and connect them rather than set them against one another?
  • Diversity welcome – Who remembers? Who decides what will be remembered in the future, how it will be remembered, and why? Who needs more resources and attention to shape memories in the future?
  • Methods in practice – How does remembrance happen? Which new methods, formats and tools are especially suited to foster critical and inclusive remembrance
    today and in the future?

Whether through lectures, workshops, panel discussions, artistic contributions or experimental formats, share your perspective and help shape an inclusive and innovative culture of remembrance for Europe.
