In 2014, MEET UP! was the original funding program of the EVZ Foundation for international youth exchange projects, the qualification of professionals, and the strengthening of youth engagement. The aim was to actively involve young people in decision-making processes and to promote their ideas, creativity, and personal responsibility.
The first German-Ukrainian youth exchanges took place from 2014 to 2020. From 2021 to 2023, MEET UP! Youth for Partnership involved all countries of the Eastern Partnership. The EVZ Foundation, with the support of the Federal Foreign Office, funded more than 350 exchanges, expert exchanges, and 57 microprojects.
With micro-grants, young people between the ages of 18 and 35 were able to implement their own projects quickly and easily as part of this program. Microprojects address local challenges, promote creativity, practical learning, and engagement among young people, and thus contribute to the active shaping of the community.
